Analysis And Improving Strategies On Effectiveness Lackness Note-taking In Spanishchinese Consecutive Interpreting

In consecutive interpreting,interpreters always take notes to help memorize the content.However,interpreting quality is affected by insufficient note-taking.Research of reasons for the insufficient note-taking in consecutive interpreting and associated improvement methods is conducted in this study.Firstly,Importance of utilizing notetaking during consecutive interpretation process is proposed.The characteristics of effective note-taking are investigated.Secondly,related performances and influences of lacking effective note-taking are analyzed based on the notes taken during the mock conference of Speech of Argentine President at the Press Conference about Covid-19.Moreover,solutions to insufficient effectiveness of note-taking are proposed in this study.Results show that reasonable structure,effective symbol and appropriate selection are fundamental requirements of effective nota-taking.The proposed method of intensive note-taking training can provide guidance before,during and after translation to improve note-taking effectiveness.The results of this study can provide a reference for practicing note-taking in consecutive interpretation and improving the quality of output.
