This paper discusses the omission in the simultaneous interpreting of Korean-Chinese with texts. The study is based on author's experience of simultaneous interpreting for a forum of philosophy.Omission can be divided into two situations: one is ellipsis, which is a translation strategy to improve the efficiency of translating into the target language and making the target language concisely. The other one is the obvious missing of information. The omission discussed in this paper belongs to the second situation, which does not include "ellipsis".This paper counts the number of the omission and detects the omitted content.Through analysis, the reasons for the omission include obstacles in listening and understanding, heavy reliance on texts, difficulty in digital interpretation, word order difference between Korean and Chinese, and expressing non-fluently in Chinese.According to the reasons of the omission, the author has proposed corresponding solutions. They are including improving listening and understanding skills, training in simultaneous interpreting with texts, applying the principle of syntactic linearity, training in digital interpretation, and improving Chinese expressing ability.Among them, the specific ways to improve the ability of listening and understanding are to prepare well before interpreting,to extend range of knowledge,to clarify logical relationships among the sentences. The ability of Chinese expression can be improved by accumulating collocations, idioms and proverbs, forming good language habits, reading more and reciting more, and practising impromptu speech. This study aims to improve the level of simultaneous interpreting with texts to reduce omitting and provide some reference for interpreters who faced the same problem.
