Tsui Hark's films influence the creation of contemporary Chinese films with novel forms and unique ideas,especially his martial arts films have benchmarking significance in the history of Chinese films.The hero image in Tsui Ke's martial arts movies has a strong typicality.In his movies,some heroes come from martial arts novels,some from history and some from artistic imagination.No matter what kind of heroes they are,they have extraordinary wisdom and courage.In view of the lack of research on the construction mechanism and spiritual characteristics of these heroes,this paper makes a systematic discussion on this issue from three related logical dimensions.First of all,the paper examines the main types of hero images in Tsui Ke's martial arts movies.In Tsui Hark's films,the river and the lake is a surreal ideology.Here,justice and evil,loyalty and treachery,persistence and betrayal coexist.Only heroes who stick to benevolence and chivalry can gain spiritual freedom.There are many hero images in Tsui Ke's martial arts movies,but they can be divided into three categories according to their social identities:Government heroes,heroes in the world and common people heroes.The government heroes are the heroes who once served in the government.This paper studies the reasons of the official heroes' wandering in the world,and divides the government heroes into the maintenance type,the improved type and the rebellious type.The heroes in the world are warriors in the society.The rivers and lakes have their own unique order,including rulers,executors and rebels.The heroes of the rivers and lakes play a role in maintaining the order and justice of the Wulin.Civilian heroes are ordinary people in the society.They can't do martial arts,but they become heroes because of the public mirror image consciousness and the glorious universal value of human nature.Secondly,the paper analyzes the main artistic features of the hero image in Tsui Ke's martial arts movies.Unique space-time modeling,clothing props modeling,stylized lens language and innovative special effects technology are the main characteristics of Xu Ke's martial arts hero image.Finally,the paper further discusses the traditional cultural connotation of the hero image in Xu Ke's martial arts movies,focusing on the analysis of the Confucian spirit,Taoist spirit and Buddhist spirit carried by the hero image of Xu Ke's martial arts film.Among the heroes in Xu Ke's martial arts movies,the hero image represented by Zhou Huai'an interprets "benevolence and righteousness",Ning caichen and others interpret "Li",while Ling Huchong interprets more "faith".These heroic symbols are some specific indicators of Confucian spirit.Taoism pursues a kind of balance between man and nature.The hero image represented by diminqi is not interested in fame and wealth,but saves the world.In a sense,it shows the Taoist cultural thought of "unity of man and nature" and "Inaction".The chivalrous heroes represented by the ten directions,to a certain extent,reflect the Buddhist cultural feelings of compassion.
