Analysis Of The Current Phenomenon Of Network Populism In China

In internet era,there are infinite possibilities for social development,but at the same time,web-based dissemination of anonymity,interactivity brought out the"Network Populism".Network populism extends in cyberspace,but also a populist reaction in reality,it has both positive benefit of the positive role of social upward and negative fall destabilizing negative impact.This requires us to full understand the concept,performance,features and impact of network populism and then we can ponder the countermeasures.After reading those articles based on previous research results,and working through the network of public opinion in recent years,analysis of social hot events,I summed up the current phenomenon of network populism in China.There are 5 parts in this article.The first part is introduction.The introduction describes the research background,significance,and research results on this topic at home and abroad,and the article stated the research methods and structure of this paper.The second part,the core concept definition and related theory.Network populism and populism were conceptual statement while presenting the new public management theory,agenda setting theory,spiral of silence theory and the theory of group polarization.The third part,the network of populism embodied and formation mechanism.After finished observation and analysis,I summed up the main network populist style has four kinds of forms:a spoof booing culture,"patriotic" type,political and cultural consumption formula supervised,in addition to having respect for binary opposition,"the vigorous";moral judgment,kidnapping justice;violence worship,landscaping guilt;simple language,inciting irrational characteristics.In addition,analysis of the formation mechanism of the network can support the populist traditions of thought from four aspects,social causes,and psychological and technical basis.The fourth part,the influence of network populism.Network populism has distinct advantages and disadvantages,its positive effects that can contribute to helping normal people make sound and building in the public domain;care of vulnerable groups,the balance of power configuration;realization of public opinion,boosting equity and justice;to relieve the pressure of reality,warning social conflicts.Its negative impact is the existence of non-rational and anti-intellectualism,group polarization and the "tyranny of the majority" and split the class intensifying conflicts,kidnappings and other acts of government influence justice.The last part tells the countermeasures for network populism.Given the significant impact brought about by the network populism,the government should act properly to avoid all the disadvantages.There are four ways to solve this problem:the promotion of social equity and justice,and guarantee the grassroots level political participation;and strengthen government regulation and guidance;improve network legislation;strengthen civic education,to promote self-regulation of Internet users.
