A Study On The Intervention Strategy Of Social Work For The Disabled Under The Perspective Of Empowerment

China has always attached importance to poverty alleviation work,which is not only related to the people's daily life,but also affect the social development and progress.The party and the country has been paying more attention to the poverty alleviation since the Reform and Opening up.After the large-scale development of poverty alleviation,the number of poor people in China has dropped dramatically,and the basic outlook of poverty-stricken areas has also changed greatly.The situation of the disabled is special,the problem is complicated and it is more difficult to overcome this.With the progress of society,their living environment and living standards have improved to some degree.However,most of the disabled have little income due to poor physical condition,low cultural level,weak labor skills and lack of resistance to risk.In addition,they also have to take drugs,participate in rehabilitation training,use auxiliary equipment and other needs,which elevate their economy pressure.Rural people have more difficulty in increasing income,and they have the serious burden,which augmented the difficulty of poverty alleviation.Empowerment theory is more concerned about the disadvantaged groups,and giving them help,so as to change its social disadvantage.The theory of empowerment focuses on the state of powerlessness of the client,which emphasizes the change of the status of the service from the individual,the interpersonal and the political level,helping them gain the authority.The perspective of the subject as the main body of the initiative,which pays attention to the development of its ability to advocate the construction of social workers and the relationship between the equal partners.Based on the present situation of the development of poverty alleviation of domestic and foreign,this paper uses the methods of investigation and study,case study and other research methods by the theory of empowerment,analyzing the needs of poor people with disabilities,and summed up experiences in the process of practice,to put forward countermeasures of social work involving in poverty alleviation for the disabled intervention skills.Through the investigation and interview,the author learned that the impoverished disabled groups have these demands:the basic problems of life,education of disabled children,disabled employment,leisure entertainment problems of the disabled,disabled medical problems of industrial development,which is coincided with the six types of poverty alleviation proposed by the government——education poverty,employment poverty,cultural poverty,poverty alleviation and medical industry.Therefor,in the development of poverty alleviation of the professional practice of social work of the specific process,social workers mainly have done three aspects of works.Firstly,they did the investigation and grasped the basic status of impoverished disabled groups.Secondly,they used the professional working methods of case work method,group work,community work method in impoverished disabled services,summarizing the problems and experience.Finally,they use the practical framework of empowerment theory from the individual level,interpersonal level and political level to achieve the empowerment of poor people with disabilities,to help disabled people get rid of poverty and realize the ability to ascend,providing a reference for the poverty alleviation work for the disabled,so as to help the precise poverty alleviation work.
