Overseas Chinese policy in the era of French Vietnam had a deep influence on the overseas Chinese. The French colonial authorities adjusted overseas Chinese policy for exploiting resources in Vietnam. In order to meet the needs of rule, the changes of the overseas Chinese policy covered immigration, taxation, organizations and Chinese education. In addition, the adjustments of overseas Chinese policy were affected by the world economic crisis and the Second World War in the era of French Vietnam. The overseas Chinese in Vietnam strove for their normal treatment by repeatedly issuing statements and returned to homeland for the petition, looking forward to intervening in the law from Chinese government, which could safeguard the vital interests of the overseas Chinese.China had maintained the interests of overseas Chinese consciousness and made corresponding efforts such as formulating relevant policies, the establishment of the consulate, note method and so on,to a certain extent in the maintenance of overseas Chinese, but with little success.Declining,as a semi colonial and semi feudal society,China was in troubles internally and externally. With the heart but incompetent,it is worth pondering.
