Traditional villages are the historical formation of natural villages,stable social space comprised of certain households with blood and geopolitical relations.The village distinguish itself form other places with own regional and social boundary,showing a set of unique ethical code and village governance system rooted in the local authority.In this paper,based on deep observation of the villages of Dai ethnic group on the China-Burmese border ——Jingxin village,we discuss how traditional authority of Jingxin village manages,with the penetration of modernization and globalization,to consolidate and establish its social position to mobilize social resources and control the village.We try to through the interaction between traditional authority and the villagers group management,to fully mobilize all kinds of power so that rights traditional authority in the village and the rural political authority could be divided to govern the village.In the end,we also discuss the traditional authority is an irreplaceable foundation in the village governance,which promotes the unity,progress and harmony of villages.The paper is divided into six parts,consisting of introduction,four chapters and conclusion.In the introduction,we tell the purpose and significance of this study,and review the previous research.The main body is expanded from the following four parts:The first chapter,we summary from the perspectives of geographical environment,village,population,development of society and economy,religious belief and festivals in Jingxin village.In the second chapter,we analyze the social structure of Jingxin village through the framework of villages,which aims to emphasize that the traditional social structure is the continuation of traditional authority.The third chapter analyze the composition,action logic of traditional authority,and how they manage the social mobilization and governance in the villages,which shows the role of traditional authority in village governance.The fourth chapter we discuss the relationship between the traditional authority and the "villager group",and analyze how the village can have benign operation through interaction between differentpowers.
