Study On The Pressure And Countermeasures Of Family Caregivers Of The Elderly With Dementia

At present,the absolute number of elderly people in China ranks first in the world,the speed of aging development of China is also the fastest.With the increasing number of the elderly,the health problems of the elderly are also attracting more and more attention.In the worldwide and in our country,the number of elderly people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's disease is increasing,and gradually spread to the younger age.The vast majority of elderly people with dementia and their families choose home care mode,most of the long-term caregivers of the elderly are family members or relatives,they always meet a lot of stress in the process of care.According to the oral descriptions of care experiences and feelings based on family caregivers of the elderly with dementia,this research exploring the source of care and stress for family caregivers of the elderly with dementia,and try to put forward the coping strategy.This study focuses on the following issues:What kind of pressure do family caregivers feel when they are in the care process?What are the causes of these pressures?How to relieve the care pressure of family caregivers of dementia patients?In this study,family caregivers of elderly with dementia in J city were selected as research subjects,the first-hand information were collected through in-depth interviews and be made collation and analysed.It is found that the family caregivers of elderly with dementia face enormous pressure from physical,psychological,economic,social interactions and other heavy tasks.At the same time,due to the lack of nursing services,narrow coverage of service in day care centers,insufficient economic subsidies,and caregivers' own related medical knowledge,lack of psychological knowledge and lack of social connection,the care pressure of family caregivers of the elderly was aggravated.Based on the analysis of the pressure and source of family caregivers,the author tries to put forward some countermeasures to improve the social security system,strengthen the nursing service,publicize the knowledge and skills of psychology,increase the policy economic subsidies,use social workers,enhance social communication,enhance the propaganda of nursing knowledge and improve the quality of the workers.It can meet the needs of family caregivers of the elderly with dementia and relieve their pressure of care.
