Study On Social Support Of Family Caregivers For Elderly With Disability In Shanghai

From a global perspective,home-based care is still the mainstream of the world's old-age care.In China,under the background of "not rich before getting old",the pattern of family care is facing unprecedented challenges,accompanied by lower birthrate and the longevity of the elderly.Before the dysfunction of the elderly in the home,the home caregiver only plays a supporting role,but the change from the elderly make the home caregiver play a leading role,especially for those who have work.As a result,they will face the dual challenges of social roles and family roles at the same time.The lack of social support to family carers will ultimately affect the functioning of family care functions.Therefore,this article analyzes the supply and demand situation of family caregiver social support from the point of view of supply and demand,and proposes the countermeasures and suggestions to build social support centered on family caregivers.This paper focuses on questionnaire surveys and supplements qualitative interviews.Through literature analysis,comparative analysis,and other methods,this paper fully understands the supply and demand of social support for family caregivers of disabled elderly people.In this paper,a total of 325 family carers in Shanghai were surveyed.Finally,297 valid questionnaires were retrieved,and in-depth structural interviews were conducted with relevant street owners and some family carers.First,the article reviews the literature and theories related to the research subject,sums upthe domestic and international research course on long-term care,and provides a theoretical basis for further research.Secondly,the article conducts a rigorous empirical design on the status of supply and demand of family caregivers' social support,explains the research object,elaborates the questionnaire design process,and summarizes the research results.Thirdly,based on the results of the survey,the article analyzes the status of supply and demand for family caregivers' social support,explores the imbalance between supply and demand,and the causes of contradictions.It also proposes strategies and suggestions for building social support networks.In summary,the main conclusions derived from this paper are inspired: First,the number of family caregivers who receive social support is very small,and the social support provided by family caregivers is obviously insufficient in Shanghai;second,demand is characterized by diversification,which is mainly divided into four categories: economic support needs,spiritual support needs,service support needs,and skills support needs.The degree of demand is relatively high and demand is strong;third,the existence of non-equilibrium contradictions mainly manifests itself in four aspects: economic support for supply and demand,supply and demand for spiritual support,contradiction between supply and demand for service support,and contradiction between supply and demand for skills support,and the absence of supply entities such as government,markets,society,and households.The main reason for the contradiction between supply and demand.Fourth,based on the results of empirical research and qualitative research,a multi-subjective social support network based on family caregivers was proposed to relieve the caregivers of family caregivers and maintain the sustainability of family care.The future research direction can be strengthened from the following two aspects: First,strengthening the research on the relationship between social care and family care;Second,expanding the research on social support based on the disadvantaged groups.
