As the most important two big countries in the world,China and the United States have always been concerned about Sino-U.S.relations.After China surpassed Japan to become the world's second largest economy in 2010,the rapid rise of China triggered the United States' concern over its dominant position. From the Obama administration's Asia-Pacific Rebalancing Strategy to the Trump administration's India-Pacific strategy, frictions and conflicts between China and the United States continue.American scholar Graham Allison has extracted the logic concept of the“Thucydides Trap”from historical research to show that when an emerging country challenges the hegemonic position of the conserving state, the war between the two countries is inevitable. The so-called history“iron law”.Whether China and the United States will fall into the“Thucydides Tap”has become a hot topic in the official and academic circles.Despite the structural contradictions in Sino US relations, strategic mutual suspicion and competition have been on the rise in recent years. However,China and the United States are not necessarily going to war.China and the United States have a realistic basis to surpass the“Thucydides Trap”.Nowadays, the historical background of the two countries has undergone major changes. There are many favorable factors that restrict the occurrence of war.Economic globalization has enabled the deep integration of interests between China and the United States.Nuclear deterrence has also made the cost of the war of great powers and other factors constrain the behavior of China and the United States. The future of Sino-U.S.relations will depend on the interaction and behavior of China and the United States.China persists in its peaceful rise and does not take the old road of national power.China and the United States must have the concept of power sharing and establish a communication mechanism at the global, bilateral, and regional levels to reach a consensus that no military force should be used to resolve conflicts.China has also creatively proposed to build“New Type of Great Power Relations”between China and the United States without conflict, confrontation and win-win cooperation.Under the joint efforts of China and the United States,China and the United States can walk out of a new road of peaceful development of great powers.
