Research On The "Thucydides Trap" And The Prospect Of Sino-US Relationship

As the world's most important and complicated bilateral relations,Sino-US relations has always been the focus.Especially in 2010,China became the world's second largest economy entity,Sino-US relations is especially striking.Whether it will fall into “Thucydides trap” has become a hot and research issues for the official and academic.Historically,when the rise of emerging powers to challenge the established power hegemony,they almost inevitably fell into “Thucydides trap”,which has been called the “iron law” of the international relations.With the rise of China,China and the United States have indeed been pushed to the cusp of the relationship between the rise of new powers and conservative powers.Today is an era of economic globalization,Chinese and American interests deeply intertwined?fusion,has formed a close relationship between “one wing all wing,a loss all loss”.It addition,China history also shows that China is different from the previous emerging powers,and our country has no culture of seeking hegemony.What's more,China implement the strategy of peaceful development and commits to building a harmonious world.From the United States,the hegemony of the United States has been a relative decline.So it has been unable to cure China.Therefore,although the two countries have been placed on the position of the emerging powers and big powers,whether it is from the cultural tradition and the development strategy of China,the two countries may also have the ability to transcend “Thucydides trap”.But looking forward to the prospects of the Sino-US relations,it will not be smooth,the conflicts and frictions will be inevitable.In order to better manage differences,enhance mutual trust,China proposed the advocate to build the new power relations,which recognized by the United States,it has become an important guarantee for the healthy development of Sino-US relations.Under the joint efforts of the two countries,China and the United States will explore a new way of major county in peace,so as to break the spell of “Thucydides trap”.
