With the rapid development of the country's economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standards,people's understanding of the meaning of work has also shifted from being a breadwinner to paying attention to the joy of work,Therefore,the study of work value orientation has become a hot topic in domestic scholars.In recent years,the state has reformed the salaries of the staff of government agencies,the salaries of grass-roots civil servants at the basic level has been greatly improved,their basic living needs have been met and the value orientation of work has also changed accordingly.However,the current research on the value orientation of work in China is mostly concentrated in the field of teachers.There is no relevant research on the value orientation of grassroots civil servants which makes the value orientation of grassroots civil servants in the process of transformation and lacks targeted management measures.Therefore,it is worthwhile to carry out an in-depth systematic exploration of the realities of the work orientation of grassroots civil servants.The paper will use grassroots civil servants in Guangxi as the research object and conduct statistical analysis on 408 valid questionnaires.First,an independent sample T-test and analysis of variance were conducted to investigate the differential effects of personal characteristics variables on work value orientation,work engagement,and work performance.The analysis found that: civil servants at the grass-roots level in Guangxi have a significant difference in job performance,job orientation,work value orientation,political outlook,education,and job level,and job performance,marital status,and working years,while others do not show significant differences.Secondly,through the structural equation model analysis,the relationship between the three variables is discussed.Results:(1)There is a significant correlation between the work value orientation and work input.There is a significant positive correlation among the earning orientation,career orientation,and work input dimensions.There is a significant negative correlation between career orientation and work input.(2)Partially significant correlation between job input and job performance.Among them,the work activity was significantly positively correlated with task performance,work focus and work performance,There is no correlation between work dynamism and relationship performance,work dedication and job performance.(3)There is a partial correlation between work value orientation and job performance.There is a significant positive correlation between career orientation and job performance dimensions,career orientation and task performance.In addition,there is a significant negative correlation between the earning orientation and each aspect of job performance.(4)The focus dimension of work engagement plays a complete mediating role in the dimensions of livelihood orientation and task performance as well as career orientation and relationship performance.Other dimensions do not mediate.Finally,according to the research conclusion from the grass-roots civil service,training,career,daily management,living and working conditions and organizational climate from six aspects,put forward the rationalized Suggestions to perfect the work value orientation of civil servants at the grass-roots level.
