According to data from the United Nations Commission on Human Settlements and Human Settlements, the number of slum dwellers in most developing countries may increase if no effective action and governance measures are taken, and it is expected that the number of urban slum dwellers around the world will increase in the next 30 years. To about 2 billion people.Obviously, the problem of urban slums has become more and more intractable. It is one of the urban issues that all countries in the world, especially developing countries, must attach importance to and solve.Urban slums have brought about shortages of urban resources, deterioration of human settlements, disease epidemics, and social barriers. These problems directly affect the physical and mental health of slum dwellers and are not conducive to urban health, stability, and sustainable development. In order to solve the problem of urban slums in India, the Indian government has formulated and introduced a series of laws and policies and introduced a series of governance measures and action plans to effectively manage and solve urban slum problems, including housing, water supply and drainage systems, and power grid systems.Infrastructure services such as public health facilities and public services such as education, medical care and hygiene, employment, and social welfare are provided. After implementing these governance measures and plans,India has achieved certain results in the management of urban slums, including a clear increase in the importance of slum problems, gradual improvement of slum governance regulations, gradual improvement of infrastructure in slum areas, and public services for slum dwellers.Constantly strengthen and so on.However, due to various factors, the problem of urban slums in India has not been effectively solved. There are still many problems, such as the continuous increase in the number of slum dwellers, the serious problem of housing security, the lagging development of medical and health undertakings, and the worrying development of slum education.Serious shortage of infrastructure and other issues.Based on the achievements and deficiencies in urban slum management in India, combined with the specific reality of the reconstruction of urban villages in China, the lessons learned from the governance of slums in India are summarized, including the scientific planning of urban transformation, the protection of housing provision for poor residents, and the strengthening of infrastructure. To build and protect the daily life of poor residents, improve the social security system, raise the level of protection for poor residents, accelerate economic development and construction, create more jobs, coordinate the diversified forces of society, and expand investment in urban poverty alleviation. The innovation of this paper lies in a systematic and comprehensive introduction and summary of the measures and actions for urban slum upgrading and governance in India. It objectively evaluated the effectiveness and insufficiency of urban slum management in India and brought inspiration for the transformation of urban villages in China. The point is that due to the influence of the source of the search and the level of one's own foreign language, the specific measures for the urban slum management in Mumbai,India, are not comprehensive enough and are not thorough enough in the analysis of specific issues.
