The United States and the South Pacific island Nations have a close and complex relationship in history.After Obama government implemented the strategy of "Rebalance to the Asia-Pacific",and the strategic value of the South Pacific island Nations was revalued by the United States.Under the new situation and the new background,the Obama government has strengthened its cooperation with the South Pacific island Nations.ln the political and security aspects for the strategic needs,and has made a policy adjustment to the South Pacific islands in the economic,cultural,educational and environmental aspects.ln security policy,build a military security circle,strengthen the partnership with Australia New Zealand and the upgrade tactics system.in economic policy,Pursue TPP to seek economic and trade order in the South Pacific region,Strengthen the economic and trade with the South Pacific island Nations,Increase the economic assistance to the South Pacific island Nations.In Cultural and educational policies,dispatch the Peace Corps,set up scholarships and establish Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation fund to assistance the South Pacific island Nations.ln environmental protection policy,help island Nations to enhance their capacity for disaster response and reconstruction and expand marine reserves.Through the study of the security,economy,culture,education and environment policies of the Obama government in the South Pacific islands,the important position of the South Pacific islands in the diplomatic strategy of the Obama government is made clear.Through these foreign policies,the United States has increased its influence on the South Pacific islands and incorporated the South Pacific islands into the diplomatic strategy system to serve the national interests of the United States.
