The Role Of Government In The Reconstruction Of The Old City Of Changshu City

Since twenty-first Century,with the rapid development of China's economy,the population was constantly flowing to the city and the urbanization entered the rapid developmental period,especially recent years,going through the "era of great construction",the level of urbanization has been further improved,however,due to the city overloaded,which leads to partial city become declined.Through the transformation of the old town to upgrade the urban function is the continuous driving force for the economic and social development.In China,many of old town has been gradually declining,the old commercial center has become the focus of floating population and rental unlicensed vendors,based on the current situation,the features and functions of the old city aren't consistent with people's growing need for better life as well as the basic needs of human's life.Therefore,the transformation of the old town in China has become a major issue that must be faced in a certain period of time in the future.Nowadays,the government plays a leading role in the reconstruction of the old city in the district.Throughout the whole country,the function and role of the local government determines the city's reconstruction direction in the old city and the result of city's future development.Based on it,the research on the role orientation of local government reconstruct the old city has great practical significance.How to update the old city's transformation and play the reasonable role-orientation of the local government in the transformation of the old city has became one of a major issue,it is also related to the local people's vital interests and it has aroused wide attention from all walks of life in the society.Based on reviewing the literature and related documents and according to analyze the role of government in the transformation of the old town in Changshu City,the thesis firstly analyzes the role of the government in the transformation of the old city from the background and significance of the research,Secondly,through literature review,survey research,comparative analysis and other methods,evaluates the government's role orientation in the transformation of the old town in Changshu City.Thirdly,according to the related theory of public management,further analyzes the existed problems that government role orientation in the transformation of the old town in Changshu City and analyze the reason that appeared these problems.Fourthly,through research the successful experience of the renovation of old cities at home and abroad,draws the rational role position of the government in the reconstruction of the old town in Changshu City.At last,in view of how to improve the role of the government in the transformation of the old city,the author puts forward some relevant countermeasures and suggestions,which provides a theoretical basis and practical reference for the decision making of the county's government in Changshu City and South of Jiangsu.
