Since Abe Shinzo's second administration in December 2012,Japan's defense policy has undergone major changes.Strategically,Japan puts forward pacifism;in law,it breaks through the constraints of the post-war constitutional system of peace;militarily,it strengthens its armaments and strives to build a mobile, efficient and flexible modern military force to ensure local security in order to maintain the increasingly expanding regional and international security interests. These indicate that Japan is accelerating the pace of becoming a so-called “normal country” and striving to become a political power and a military power at the same time. This not only reflects profound international and domestic backgrounds but also brings a certain impact on China and its surrounding areas.Through the analysis of the background, main contents and the influence on China's political situation as well as the international situation in the surrounding areas of the adjustment of Japanese government's defense policy, this paper puts forward some ideas and suggestions on how to deal with this adjustment. As for China, facing the adjustment of the defense policy of the Japanese government,it has to improve its comprehensive national strength in the long run and prevent Japan from using the Diao-yu Islands and the South China Sea to interfere with the progress of China's peaceful development, while accelerating the pace of modernization of its military forces and improve the ability to win the war. With the easing of Korean Peninsula situation and the visit of the Chinese premier, there has been a new opportunity for peace in Northeast Asia and a good sign of Sino-Japanese relationship. This change has weakened the legitimacy of the Japanese Self Defense Force's policy of expansion and progress.
