Study On The Presentation Of Left-behind Children’s Media Image(2004-2016)

During the period of social transformation,a large number of migrant workers flooded into cities,leaving their children at the place of residence and becoming "left-behind children." Left-behind children are large and widely distributed,and their living conditions are facing The dilemma has also become the focus of the government and society.Therefore,various kinds of news about left-behind children often appear in newspapers,television,and the Internet.Left-behind children have gradually become an important target of mass media coverage.In today’s informationization,the mimicry environment of media influences people’s perception and impression of the real society.Therefore,as an important way for people to understand the world,the mass media has shaped the image of left-behind children and also affects people’s recognition of left-behind children and understanding.This paper choose the earlier focus on left-behind children’s party newspaper “People’s Daily ”and influential and labor input and output are big province on behalf of the metropolis daily guangdong “southern metropolis daily” and the sichuan “west China metropolis daily”,the three newspapers in 13 years from 2004 to 2016 reported cases of left-behind children is analyzed,using quantitative analysis methods to construct categories,from the perspective of the number of reports,the type and length of the report,the theme of the report,the source of the news,and the attitude of the report.Discover how the three newspapers reproduced the images of left-behind children.This article also combines case analysis and literature research methods to consider the factors affecting the image presentation of left-behind children and explore the image of prominent left-behind children created by different media under the interaction and constraints of different forces,and tried to find the deeply influence the factors that affecting the media image of left-behind children from the perspective of news production.The study found that the three newspapers presented three outstanding images of left-behind children: first,the government’s help,social care,and children left behind by the charity activities;second,the weak left-behind children whose family ties were lacking and the living conditions were worrying;and third,the injuries and situations encountered.Tragically negative left-behind children.However,the focus of the three media in the image-building of lucky left-behind children under government support,social care,and charity activities is not the same.People’s Daily reported that the main body is more of the government,and “Southern Metropolis Daily” highlights the corporate and public welfare."Huaxi Dushi Bao" is more "localized".Therefore,this study also analyzes the media image personality of left-behind children under the constraints of different media.It is found that "People’s Daily" tends to create a beautiful and harmonious government.Image;"Southern Metropolis Daily" under the economic chase the main dislocation,the left-behind children become profitable marketing points,the image is marginalized;"Huaxi Dushi Bao" excessive humanistic care and impure humanism led to the prominent negative image.Finally,the article also uses the case analysis method and literature research method to explore the deep factors that influence the reproduction of media images from the perspective of news production,including the role of the news framework that is shaped by the nature of the media and the constraints of media professionals and reporting elements;political discourse is dominant and excessive.Economic pursuits lead to the dislocation of goals;stereotyped and controlled reports are modeled.In this regard,the media should take social responsibility as its priority and should pay attention to the discourse of left-behind children.Urban newspapers should take appropriate measures.Party media should also learn from the urban media and handle media,government,and public relations well.The relationship between news,propaganda and the market can better present the true social status of left-behind children and promote the solution of the problem of left-behind children.
