A Study Of Uyghur Inter-ethnic Marriage And Inter-ethnic Harmony

Huocheng county of Xinjiang is a multi-ethnicity county,it is the earliest region of national unity and progress,it is also one of the representative regions with inter-ethnic marriage features.After the establishment of PRC,along with the implementation of a new generation of ethnic policy,different ethnic groups become more equal,and people are more united,in the Huocheng county,Uyghur and other ethnic groups mixed,and the living pattern of Uyghur ethnic intermarriage provides the necessary conditions for the happening of Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage.In addition,religious belief and economic condition are also important factors to affect local Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage.This article held the perspectives of Anthropology,Ethnology and Sociology.Using Huocheng county of Xinjiang as the field site,and set the family of Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage as research object,successfully interviewed 19 families and 26 children of Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage.By summarizing and analyzing the first-hand interview data,the author learned the major factors affecting local Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage are Living patterns,Religious beliefs,and Economic conditions,with the increase of the Uyghur inter-ethnic marriages,it created a positive impact on ethnic harmony,the Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage related personnel of multiple ethnic identity are conducive to harmonious ethnic relations,and the Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage related personnel of compatible ethnic psychology are beneficial for the inter-ethnicity communications,the Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage related personnel' s open consciousness is good for construction of the of Chinese nation consciousness.This paper will be divided into four chapters:the introduction part elaborated the background and significance of this study,referring to the literature research then pick the topic of this thesis;The first chapter elaborated the theoretical basis of ethnic relations and inter-ethnic marriage;The second chapter summarized the history and Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage;The third chapter analyzed the causes of interethnic marriage among Uyghurs;The fourth chapter elaborated the influence of inter-ethnic marriage on inter-ethnic harmony.Finally,the conclusion part analyzed the social significance of Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage and expounded the enlightenment of the study on Uyghur inter-ethnic marriage from the social and national aspect.
