The implementation of state policy Family Plan carried out in 1978 has succeeded in avoiding the tendency of high population growth.Meanwhile,structural changes also took place in many Chinese families,which transformed traditional family model with at least two children into “4-2-1” one,namely,4 stands for two grandfathers and two grandmothers,2 means parents and 1 represents one child.However,this transformation is also an obvious shortage in current society.For instance,many risks will be accompanied with only child in his growth.Falling into disease or the acceleration rate of death make families with only one child new weak groups: the senior groups who lost their only one descendant.These groups are confronted with pressure in various aspects such as the lake of material and economic items.But for them,the least noticeable is the dependence and comfort on spirit for they are more prone to collapse Fortunately,nowadays they have acquired more attention from social community and our state policy has attached more importance to them.Beginning from the point of view on social work,the author believe that the most needed for these groups are spiritual comfort and release of their minds instead of material support.Only by utilizing professional social work methods and skills can we help them generally return to normal life as we live.By filing the existing literature on the website and the author’s practice on his own,he finds out that mass of these groups in x community are troubled by the sense of sadness and they are not adapt at communicating with others also they don’t want to talk to people.What’s more,the feeling of being barren spiritually fulfil their daily life.This thesis takes x community in Hongshan District in Wuhan for example.The utilization of work methods of development groups is injected into the spiritual life of those senior groups so that remind the public of keeping such principle in mind: He who helps others is helping himself.Therefore,this program can provide those senior groups with comfort spiritually.Through the research,Social workers can lead the elderly to participate in various group activities and offer various modes of the solutions based on the individual difference in order to encourage those senior groups to dispose of spiritual comfort problems with professional social working skills.Development team is an important way of the work group,it focuses on team members’ personal growth,and promote the interpersonal relationship and socialadaptation ability,believe that team members can along with the development of the team and development,and the spiritual comfort is refers to the comfort and adjustment of spirit,for loss of the old man alone,spiritual comfort is to help its losing alone out of the shadows,enrich the spiritual life,to meet new tomorrow.
