According to the survey,by the end of 2017,the number of elderly people over 60 years old reached 241 million,accounting for 17.3% of the total population.China's increasingly serious pension problem,more and more affect the stability and development of the country and society.With the rapid development of the economy,the gradual improvement of the social security system and the continuous progress of the medical level,the number of elderly people in our country is increasing,and the proportion of the population is also increasing.On the other hand,so that the elderly can get the most basic and effective guarantee in material life.However,the lack of recreational activities and various spiritual comfort projects makes the elderly prone to feelings of emptiness and loneliness;busy work and less recreational activities make the elderly's demand for spiritual comfort more and more prominent.The newly promulgated Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly stipulates that "family members shall not neglect or isolate the elderly spiritually" and that "supporters who live separately from the elderly should visit or greet the elderly frequently".However,the fact is not optimistic.Most of the elderly are spiritually empty and lonely.The author's research object is the elderly in G community of Lanzhou City.Through questionnaires,unstructured interviews and questionnaires,80 elderly people in G community of Lanzhou City were surveyed by questionnaires,and 7 elderly people were selected for face-to-face in-depth interviews and questionnaires.From this,the author can have a more comprehensive understanding of the situation of mental comfort of the elderly in this community.According to the survey,the elderly in G community have the needs of self-adaptation,emotional support,interpersonal communication,cultural entertainment and self-realization.The theoretical basis of this study is social support theory and social activity theory,and group service activities are carried out to meet the needs of mental comfort of the elderly in G community of Lanzhou City.Through the evaluation before and after the practice,it shows that the behavior and spirit of the elderly have changed positively after receiving professional social work services,and this study has achieved the desired results.Therefore,the author's suggestions for social work intervention in the spiritual comfort of the elderly are as follows: first,the combination of group and case work;second,the platform thinking of group resources;third,the improvement and innovation of group intervention program.
