As the development of new information technology,today our society has been in the era of the Internet.So many online applications have become a part of people's lives and the public have get used to announce their advice and demands via the Internet.People become more and more engaged in participating in politics to protect their own rights.At the same time,they focus more on rating governments via free styles,even it risks being irresponsible and radical.Too little constraint leads to online publicity crisis,which becomes new challenges to the government.Nowadays our country is suffering from social transformation.However,it seems that the government lacks proper methods to handle online publicity crisis.Moreover,improper methods harm the credit of our government,which damage the good image of the government.It is believed that a good government image could help to enhance the government's cohesiveness and credibility,could help strengthen the connection between the government and people and has a strong boost in all areas of social management.Therefore,it is of great significance to study how to shape the image of honesty,transparency,efficiency and people-oriented government in the management of online publicity crisis.Via literature studies and systematic analysis,this paper studies how to effectively shape the government image in the management of online publicity crisis.First of all,we fully explain the basic concepts,characteristics,classification and management principles of online publicity crisis.We also define the concept,characteristics,positioning and role of the government image.Secondly,to the best of our knowledge,for the first time,we put forward the relationship between online publicity and government image.Online publicity can have both a positive and negative effect on the government image.By typical cases,we find the problems of the government are lacking pertinence and experience and slow response to online publicity crisis.It is because that our government lacks awareness and predictive ability and does not have scientific handling methods.In a word,the processing mechanism is incomplete.Finally,by specific cases,it is concluded that the government should start from three aspects: consciousness,ability andmechanism guarantee to handle online publicity crisis.With planning,dissemination,control and adjustment of government image into consideration,we propose some suggestions on dealing with online publicity crisis.
