Research On Evolution Mechanism Of Network Mass Incidents

With the rapid development of the Internet and the enrichment of the network society,new media means start to occupy people's lives.The transmission of mass information in real time and the enthusiasm of people to express their opinions on hot topics cause the network public opinion to develop beyond the control of netizen.Under this circumstance,network mass incidents are more likely to occur.In this paper,the evolution mechanism of network mass incidents is explored based on the silent spiral theory and the social combustion theory.The author divides the evolution into four stages according to the time sequence of incidents,namely the stage of outbreak,out of control,stabilization and appeasement,and analyzes characteristics and causes of each stage.Finally,based on defects of regulation over network mass incidents and characteristics of Internet public opinion management,the author proposes five mechanisms to deal with network mass incidents from the perspective of institutional improvement and soundness,namely early warning mechanism,publicity and education mechanism,joint coordination mechanism,guidance mechanism and repair mechanism,a tentative move to establish a long-term mechanism for monitoring and handling network mass incidents and promote further development of public opinion control in the Internet era.
