In recent years, the relationship between nature reserves and surrounding communities has been paid more and more attention by the management of the reserve.Every reserve management is looking for a sustainable governance model to promote the harmonious development between nature reserves and residents.Community co-management is the most common and effective modein various governance modes, which has a profound theoretical foundation. This article had conducted field investigation, visiting community cadres and residents, issuing questionnaires for the community residents' participation in management of the DaHaitu national nature reserve in Hebei community(referred as the community residents'participation in management). The main problems that had been found in the study are the cognitive deviation of the residents to the system, low participation enthusiasm and partial participation. Then,we conclude the suggestions for improving the community residents' participation in the management of the nature reserve, based on the experience of domestic and foreign model.of community management.First of all, establishing specialized agencies in the community to coordinate the interests of related participants to ensure the smooth implementation of the promotion process. In the process of the implementation of the governance model, the reserve management institutions should focus on the transformation of management concepts and create conditions for the participation of residents in the governance.Though providing local residents with appropriate professional education, basic knowledge training and innovative incentive mechanism, improving the individual quality of residents, and thereby enhance the enthusiasm of participating in community management.Developing local ecotourism to broaden the community's access to the community.
