The Impact Of Union On The Employment Quality Of The Migrant Workers

Since China's reform and opening up,along with our country social economy development,rural migrant workers increasingly become an important power to promote the development of the economy.At the same time,the contradiction of migrant workers and the enterprise is highlighted.Trade union can effectively deal with the labor relations,and it is also the main way to protect the rights and interests of workers.Despite the rapid development of the trade organization in recent years,the disadvantages of migrant workers on aspects of social security and labor protection on one hand reflect the low employment quality of migrant workers,on the other hand,also reflect the missing roles of union on employment quality security of migrant workers,and the employment quality of migrant workers needs to be improved.The data of the present study mainly comes from the research project "Migrant Workers'Occupational Choice and Income Dispersion" sponsored by national natural science foundation of china.The survey was carried out during May to August in 2015 in Suzhou industrial park.The paper applies the Mincer wage function,Probit model and Ordered Probit model to study the impact of union on the employment quality of migrant workers.The paper found that the union is helpful to improve the employment quality of migrant workers;the higher level of education of migrant workers have the higher wages,and their participation level of social security and vocational participation rate are high,so their employment quality levels are high;job category is the important index affecting the employment quality of the migrant workers.In order to improve the employment quality of migrant workers,based on the above conclusions,we propose that trade unions should actively promote the guidance to improve the quality of migrant workers,the unions should strengthen the construction of labor organization itself to protect the rights and interests of migrant workers,and they should actively carry out vocational training to improve the employment quality of migrant workers.
