Evaluation Of City Livability Based On Factor Analysis

Under the modern social background,the economy and society are developing rapidly.With the expansion of urban scale and population expansion,urban development is showing a series of environmental and social problems that are hard to ignore,such as air pollution,environmental damage,traffic congestion,spatial disorder,and a decline in governments' image.These problems have seriously affected the quality of life and brought great challenges to urban governance.In recent years,the province's economic construction and urbanization have achieved remarkable results.However,at the same time,it has accumulated many prominent problems and contradictions.The importance of studying the construction of livable cities has gradually appeared.Under the background of livable city construction,this paper mainly studied from the following aspects:1.Using the method of literature analysis,combined the relevant literature at home and abroad,extracted the concepts and theories of livable city and clarified the main connotation of livable city.Then,summarized the current situation of livable city construction,and looked forward to the future research and development trend of livable city;2.According to the new public service theory,sustainable development theory and human settlement science,under the guidance of scientific,comprehensive,comparable,operable and people-oriented principles,the evaluation index system of urban livability is constructed,which included 14 indexes of five modules: political civilization,economic development,environmental construction,social atmosphere and living conditions.3.Conducted quantitative research and used factor analysis method to evaluate and rank the livability of eighteen cities in Henan Province.The conclusions are as follows: Generally speaking,the livability of most cities is at the middle level,and the overall livability performance of Henan province is not as good as the nationalaverage.Regionally,the construction level of livable cities in the four economic zones is unbalanced,and the livable construction of the three cities is typical.In terms of sub-indicators,there is little difference in the overall satisfaction of residents among different cities but a big difference in objective indicators.The overall satisfaction of residents and the level of economic and urban construction in the whole province is increasing and improving year by year.It also finds that there are some problems in the construction of livable cities in Henan Province,such as relatively backward pace of economic construction,weak political civilization construction and low housing satisfaction.According to these problems,suggestions were put forward pertinently.
