Central Asia has always been regarded as the "soft rib" of the Soviet Union.From a historical perspective,the Muslim Central Asian region is relatively loosely connected with the Soviet Union and is closely connected with the Muslim community outside.From the perspective of national religion,in the national doctrine of the Soviet authorities,Soviet presence dogma understanding of the national question of religion,and there is a conceptual conflict between the Muslim society of Central Asia,and there are national security risks in the Soviet Central Asian region.Based on historical and conceptual factors,the Soviet Union was highly sensitive to the Muslim issue in Central Asia.In reality,the United States and the Soviet Union entered a new round of confrontation after a brief easing in the early 1970s.After the Iranian Khomeini revolution,the pattern of the Islamic world changed greatly.The balance of power in the Middle East was broken.The memory of history,the sensitivity of the concept,and the situation in reality are intertwined with the sensitive nerves of the Soviet Union,which aggravates the Soviet Union's concerns about the security situation in the Muslim Central Asian region and further highlights the importance of Afghanistan to the Soviet Union.Afghanistan has traditionally been seen as a barrier to external forces entering the hinterland of Russia or the Soviet Union,which has important strategic value for the Soviet Union.As international tensions intensified and the regional situation became more complicated,the chaos in Afghanistan once again touched the sensitive nerves of Soviet policymakers.Ensuring the stability of Afghanistan and blocking the emerging Islamic forces from entering Central Asia on the agenda of Moscow.Any irritating incident that occurs when the situation is tense is easy to induce the Soviet Union to make a decisive move-to send troops to Afghanistan.In the history of international relations,studying the reason why the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan has been a long-lasting subject.It has always been a common idea to interpret the war from the perspective of the Cold War.When studying the reasons for the Soviet Union's military movement,this article does not attempt to replace the Cold War perspective with the perspective of the Central Asian ethnic religious issue.Instead,it adds a new latitude of the Central Asian ethnic religious issue beyond the latitude of the Cold War.The reason why the Soviet Union sent troops to Afghanistan.The traditional Cold War perspective and the national and religious perspectives interact and excite each other.By examining the interaction between these two dimensions,it is beneficial to reveal the complex scenes and specific incentives of this maj or event in multiple dimensions.
