The Visegrad Group's Choice Of Security Mechanism After The Cold War

National security is the most basic national interest for any country,and national security is reflected in the security mechanism chosen by the state.Today's academic circles have a lot of research on the choice of security mechanisms for major powers and the contents of international mainstream security mechanisms,but there are few studies on the behavioral logic of security mechanism selection in small and medium-sized countries.In this paper,the selection of the security mechanism of the Visegrad Group is taken as the research content,and the state's behavior in the choice of security mechanism is described in detail,so that readers can clarify the interests of small and medium-sized countries in the selection of security mechanisms.This paper also make up the defects of the research on security mechanism of small and medium-sized countries.The research mainly uses the research methods of literature research.From a large number of literatures,we reviewed the whole process of the Visegrad Group's choice of security mechanism,and analyzed the development trend of the group's security mechanism selection,and sought the interests of small and medium-sized countries.The article first establishes the research object of the Visegrad Group in Central and Eastern Europe,and secondly studies the content: the background,process,development dilemma of the selection of the security mechanism of the Visegrad Group,and the three security options selected by the Visegrad Group.On this basis,a bold prediction was made on the development trend of the Visegrad Group's security mechanism selection.After the end of the Cold War,the world pattern has undergone a tremendous transformation.The Visegrad Group has just been freed from the control of the Soviet Union,and they urgently need a sufficiently strong security mechanism to guarantee the traditional security of the region.After a comprehensive review of the security mechanism,they focused their attention on NATO.After a series of "NATO" transformations,the Visegrad Group met the NATO entry criteria and successfully joined NATO,in this way,he Visegrad Group chosed the NATO mechanism.In order to integrate into Europe more quickly and meet the desire to “return to Europe”,they joined the EU.The EU security mechanism provides another level of security for the Visegrad Group.In recent years,the Visegrad Group has begun to attach importance to the construction of sub-regional security mechanisms and strives to embed regional security interests into its dominant security mechanisms.From the perspective of security mechanism selection,we should pay attention to the selection behavior of the Visegrad Group.By analyzing the different strategies adopted by the Group for different security mechanisms,we can clarify the national interest demands behind the choice of security mechanisms in the group countries and the countries in Central and Eastern Europe.The paper provides a certain reference value about security mechanism in Central and Eastern Europe.It can also provide a certain reference for China to understand Central and Eastern European countries,it can also promote economic and trade cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries.
