Study On The Impact Of Family Support On The Quality Of Life Of The Elderly

With the trend of population aging in China becoming more and more obvious and deepening,the problem of providing for the aged inevitably becomes a problem that people pay close attention to and need to solve urgently.Although the function of family endowment has been weakened,it is still the mainstream way of endowment at present.Family is not only the center of life and activity for the elderly,but also the guarantee for the survival and development of individuals.For the elderly,family support and its strength will have an important impact on the quality of life of the elderly.On the basis of explaining the concepts,theories and measurement indicators of family support and quality of life,this paper constructs a research framework of family support and quality of life of the elderly,trying to explore and verify the impact of family support on the quality of life of the elderly.After reviewing a large number of existing research results at home and abroad,the author finds that on the issue of the impact of family support on the quality of life of the elderly,the domestic research on the quality of life in general still focuses on objective research,because the elderly lack of data on their perception of quality of life,so the research results on their subjective quality of life are less.And most of them stay in the single-dimensional or local data survey for empirical analysis of the quality of life of the elderly,covering a narrow dimension and breadth,and the overall representative of the sample is not strong,thus affecting our comprehensive and profound understanding of the quality of life of the elderly.Based on the data from the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)project Adult Database in 2016,this study used the theory of family support and the theory of quality of life to analyze the impact of family support on the quality of life of the elderly,focusing on discussing and verifying the impact of family support on the quality of life of the elderly.?Family support includes financial support,life care and spiritual comfort.The quality of life of the elderly includes life satisfaction,self-assessment of health status,mental health and self-care ability.The results show that:(1)financial support has a significant positive impact on life satisfaction and self-rated health of the elderly,and has a significant negative impact on mental health;(2)life care has a significant negative impact on self-rated health and self-care ability of the elderly;(3)mental comfort has a significant positive impact on self-rated health and self-care ability of the elderly.Influence.The possible innovation of this paper is to use the latest data of China's family tracking survey,from the national perspective,on the basis of the theory of quality of life,and take the subjective feelings of the elderly as the measurement index,to explore and verify the impact of family support on the quality of life of the elderly,and to verify the theory of family support.Finally,according to the conclusions of the study,this paper puts forward somesuggestions on how to strengthen family support to improve the quality of life of the elderly from three aspects: economic support,life care and spiritual comfort.
