The Research Of The Problems Of Local Government Response On Network Politics

With the rapid development of network technology,political communication has become more direct and quick.Network politics have not only become an important way for our people to exercise their right to know,to participate,to express and to supervise,but also a major channel for the governmental departments and the officials to understand the public feelings and opinions,gather people’s wisdom and develop people’s strength.However,like anything else,it is a doubleedged sword with two sides.If used properly,it will serve as a new platform for the development of socialist democratic politics;if not,it may become a source of social disharmony and instability.I believe that,instead of being in a passive position,it is better for the government to take the initiative to engage in,rationally view public participation into network politics,and guide online public opinions and enlarge the positive effects of the network,so as to further enhance the people’s trust in the government.I think that the government could start with the following three aspects to improve its response.Firstly,the concept of public service must be rebuilt.Local governments and the officials must break with the traditional bureaucratic ideology,attach great importance to its response to public opinions and establish the response system of communication instead of blocking.Secondly,government’s response capability should be improved.Government’s response shall be honest and sincere,to establish positive interaction with the public.In the face of emergencies,the governments shall keep calm and properly and timely release the fact to the public the first time.In addition,we must seize the opportunity in the “big data” era to promote the government to change its response from being extensive to refined.Thirdly,long-term mechanism is necessary to be established and improved.For instance,the researching mechanism should be improved to timely understand and correctly guide online public opinions,a cross-sectoral,cross-regional information communication mechanism shall be established and perfected to improve response efficiency;and a scientific and rational response assessment system and a strict accountability system should be established to “restricting power with power”.Based on relevant documents,as well as visits and research of local government departments,I have acquainted myself with the current situation of local governments’ responses.Main issues that should be avoided in government response and skills and propriety that should be maintained are discussed and analyzed in different cases,in the hope of providing some feasible insights for the government to correct its attitude toward network politics and improve its communication with the public.
