The Study On The Impact On Ethnic Relations In Hexi Corridor Of Xixia Nationality Policy

The Hexi Corridor is famous for its ethnic mixed living.It is a big stage for cultural and religious communication,economic exchanges and national integration in history.Xixia is a multi-ethnic regime which established by the Tangut of the Northwest Minorities.Li Yuanhao occupied the Gua Zhou add Sha Zhou states in1036 AD.It marks the formation of a territory dominated by the Hetao Plain and the Hexi Corridor with Occupying the entire Hexi Corridor.Xixia established the country in 1038 AD.After ten generation emperors,Xixia was destroyed by the Mongol Empire in 1227 AD.There are Han,Tangut,Tibet,Uighur,Cathay,Jurchen and other ethnic groups in Xixia.Xixia is one of the most complicated areas of ethnic issues and ethnic relations.The ruler of the Xixia who promotes the coexistence of the official positions and the parallelism of the Fan and Han.Xixia rulers implemented equality,openness and inclusiveness of the national policy.There no obvious discrimination or oppression policy has been adopted for all ethnic groups other than the main Tangut.Did not divide each ethnicity into different levels and no distinction between high and low.Allowing inter-ethnic intermarriage.These has alleviated ethnic conflicts,eliminated ethnic barriers,and promoted national integration.Xixia has become a rare successful case of a minority dominated ethnic areas in national history.Although the Xixia' national policy also had some negativity,As the need to maintain domination,it had not completely shaken off the embarrassment of the feudal system.But for the time,it was undoubtedly advanced and worthy of recognition.This paper focuses on the collection of relevant historical materials,and studies the methods and theories of historical philology,chorography and statistics.By collating to investigate the characteristics of Chongqing local Chronicles compilation background,overview of the Republic of China and the value of literature,the comprehensive analysis on the existing local chronicles of Republic of China,Chongqing to tease the local chronicles of the Republic of China and the old compiled by the context,helps to better grasp the era characteristic of the local chronicles of the Republic of China,Chongqing to clarify from Chongqing local chronicles of the Republic of China is different from the old local chronicles,offer reference for compiling annals to contemporary scholars.Therefore,we should pay full affirmation and attention to the historical material value and realistic significance of Chongqing local chronicles in the Republic of China.Xixia ruled the Hexi Corridor for more than 190 years and handled ethnic relations successfully.During this period,there were few large-scale ethnic conflicts,resistance and ethnic wars in the Hexi Corridor.The Xixia' national policy had an important impact on the ethnic relations in the Hexi Corridor.It had strengthened the close exchanges between various nationalities in economic,cultural,religious,social life and other aspects and it had enhanced the recognition of Xixia' culture among the various ethnic groups in the Hexi Corridor.Therefore,ethnic issues had been properly handled and the ethnic relations are peaceful and stable.Therefore,the issue has been properly handled and the ethnic relations had been peaceful and stable.It provided a relatively relaxed and peaceful environment for the economic recovery and development of the Hexi Corridor.The various ethnic groups learn from each other,integrate and influence each other,and had formed a flesh-and-blood relationship of "you have me,I have you".Xixia' national policy had made the multi-ethnic pattern of the Hexi Corridor basically formed.It had accelerated the unification of the northwest region,and had contributed to the pattern of the pluralistic integration of the Chinese nation.Xixia' national policy is of great benefit to handling ethnic relations and ethnic issues in today.
