Research On Metacognition Of Public Security Intelligence Analysis

Public security intelligence analysis is a cognitive process from a psychological perspective.Cognitive psychologists have found that people are unaware of most of their cognitive activities,and many cognitive functions are not controlled by their own consciousness.From the perspective of metacognition,public security intelligence analysts can use selfdiscovery,monitoring and adjustment of their cognitive behaviors to enable analysts to improve the quality of intelligence analysis in practical work.Based on the domestic metacognition theory,this paper analyzes the existing metacognition of public security intelligence analysis-public security intelligence analysis metacognition research.The author puts forward the structural components of metacognition of public security intelligence analysis through empirical interviews,and discusses the influence of metacognition of public security intelligence analysis on intelligence analysis.This paper investigates the metacognitive ability of public security intelligence analysis for 300 analysts through the questionnaire survey method.The results showed: First,the meta-cognition of public security intelligence analysis is divided into two levels.The first level of structural components includes public security intelligence analysis metacognitive knowledge,public security intelligence analysis metacognitive experience,and public security intelligence analysis metacognitive monitoring.Under the first level structure,it is divided into individual knowledge,analytical knowledge,sense of experience,planning,monitoring,and adjustment of six secondary structural components.Second,the influencing factors of police intelligence analysis metacognition on intelligence analysis include the analysis subject,analysis process and analysis result,three dimensions,thinking process,reasoning process,cognitive deviation,intelligence selection,method application and communication,and the analysis effect,seven indicators.Public security intelligence analysis metacognition can not only affect the analysis results by influencing the analysis subject,but also directly affect the analysis results.Third,the analyst’s ability of public security intelligence analysis has significant differences in metacognitive ability in terms of subject background,academic level,and age of engagement in police.The level of metacognitive ability of analysts is uneven,lack of understanding of metacognitive knowledge,especially individual knowledge,and lack of metacognitive experience and metacognitive monitoring.Finally,based on the above conclusions,this paper proposes countermeasures to improve the metacognition of public security intelligence analysis ability.It enhances the sense of experience and strengthens metacognitive monitoring by expanding individual knowledge and analytical knowledge and enhances analysts’ intelligence analysis of metacognition through self-question,thinking diary,and serious game training.
