Sri Lanka is an island country on the southeast coast of India. It has a long history and its early years have benefited from its unique location.Sri Lanka is close to the centerline of the main channel of the Indian Ocean. It borders the Arabian Sea to the west and the Sukke Strait. It faces India across the sea.The north and south are the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. From a geopolitical point of view, its strategic value is extraordinary, and thus it has become the jewel of South Asia.Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Sri Lanka in 1957,both countries enjoy healthy and stable cooperative relations in various fields such as politics, economy, culture and science and technology. The friendship between China and Sri Lanka has a long history.China-Sri Lanka relations are representatives of friendly relations with neighboring countries. For decades,China has maintained a profound friendship with the Sri Lankan government, political parties and people despite the changes in the international situation and the change of the ruling party in Sri Lanka.Under the background of the era of "21st Century Maritime Silk Road",this paper analyzes the relationship between China and Sri Lanka.Due to the unique geographical location of Sri Lanka and its special relationship with India,China-Sri Lankan relations have attracted the attention of many scholars in China's neighboring diplomacy. With the steady advancement of the construction of the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road,as a country along the line, based on a common vision and cooperation intention, the Sri Lankan side has given support and active participation, and its importance in our diplomatic strategy has also increased.Although the relationship between China and Sri Lanka is generally at a steady pace,in many areas, there are still obstacles affecting the sound development of China-Sri Lanka relations. How to deal with these challenges and find cooperation opportunities in a complicated environment is an issue that needs to be discussed and solved.Only by building a new bilateral relationship with neighboring countries such as Sri Lanka can we promote long-term prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. The first part of this paper first introduces the background and main content of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road",and then analyzes its strategic significance. The second part analyzes Sri Lanka's natural conditions and resources, social composition, economic construction and its geographical location. It is an indispensable part of Sri Lanka's "21st Century Maritime Silk Road".The third part focuses on the development of China-Slovakia relations in the context of the new opportunity, namely the construction of the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road. With the proposal of this initiative as the time node, the previous historical relationship between the two countries was carried out.At the same time of combing,it analyzed the strategic cooperation and docking between Sri Lanka and China in the construction of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road".The last part sorts out the various economic and political challenges facing China-Sri Lanka, and proposes proposals to reshape and deepen relations between the two countries.
