In recent years, the acceleration of urbanization in mountainous regions has directly or indirectly led to the large-scale population growth and land use change in the region. Most mountainous towns have complex terrain and special environment. And ecological deterioration and regional differences have become inevitable problems in the urbanization process of mountainous regions. There is a high distribution overlap between ecological fragile areas and poor areas in China.Ecological migration becomes a main measure to alleviate these problems.Starting from the current regional development differences and the background of population mobility, this paper puts forward a theoretical model of the evolution of regional differences on the basis of relevant theories and previous studies.Through empirical research, the paper comprehensively and dynamically analyzes the economic and social development of the region in different periods, and fully considers the interaction between regions, and discusses the spatial and temporal characteristics of disparities between mountain towns during ecological migration, thereby proposing the reasonable suggestions about coordinated development of regions. This study combines qualitative research with quantitative research, using methods such as literature analysis, exploratory data analysis and multiple regression analysis. In addition to the theoretical model provided, the analysis results of this study can be used for reference in the development strategy formulation and evaluation, regional interaction, industry and human resources of other regions with ecological migration and unbalanced development.Research conclusions include:(1)theoretical model of the interaction mechanism between different elements(especially human resources changes caused by population movements)and the regional development difference are proposed on the basis of previous studies and literature, theoretically complementing areas of research in population migration and regional differences, also providing theoretical basis for the empirical study;(2)conclusions of the empirical analysis are as follows. Before ecological migration, the development of riverside area in Wanzhou District is better than the other two areas on the whole, but its internal development difference is obviously large. The social and economic development of mountainous area is lagging behind on the whole; With the advancement of ecological migration, the gap between regions in the growth of construction land and population increased continuously, and the gap in the proportion of remaining agricultural population and rural income was not obvious until 2012.In the whole process of migration, other factors(such as the basis of economic and social development, location and traffic conditions, etc.)also affect regional development, and the spillover effect of regional development changes should also be considered.(3)the research proposes recommendations for promoting the coordinated development of mountain towns from the aspects of formulation, implementation and evaluation of regional development strategy, spatial layout optimization, industrial development, regional relations, human capital and information elements.
