In recent years,the grass-roots public security organs have experienced significant loss of young police officers,leading to a decrease in overall workforce productivity and negative impact on the development of these institutions.In this regard,this paper takes the local police station in City Y as an example to research and analyze the current status of and reasons for the loss of young police officers,through methods such as questionnaires and interviews,and raises several countermeasures based on the data and analysis.The paper starts with examining the explicit and implicit loss of young police officers in City Y based on designed questionnaires and identifies a worsening trend of young police officer loss in police department branches of City Y.The paper then revises the Price-Mueller model,and combines the original 12 independent variables into 9 independent variables based on the characteristics of the police profession.Questionnaires and interview questions are then designed based on concrete standards in this model,covering such aspects as external environment,individual factors,and internal organizational structure,in order to understand the root causes of young police officer loss in City Y.The study found that the main reasons for the loss of grass-roots youth police are: Firstly,the reasons for the environmental variable dimension are that the diversification of the market environment gives the grass-roots police more temptation and the relatives of the grassroots public security organs in the family environment are not strong.Secondly,the reasons for the individual variable dimension are that the internal organizational culture participation is not high and the work enthusiasm is weak.Thirdly,the reasons for the structural variables are that the grass-roots public security organs have a poor career management system for young police,and the grass-roots public security organs have excessive pressure and preferential treatment is not enough.The society has too many negative opinions on the grass-roots police and the task distribution gap is too large.The paper concludes with the following suggestions based on the causes identified.Firstly,in the environmental variables,the paper proposes a comprehensive internal motivation mechanism to protect against influences from external market and strengthening sense responsibility among relatives and friends.Secondly,in the individual variable dimension,the paper proposes more involvement in internal cultural building as well as encouraging proactive work attitude.Thirdly,in the organizational structure dimension,the paper proposes better management of professional career for young police officers and burden alleviating measurements such as continuing well treatment of the police profession,penalizing the spread of negative messages in the media,and fair task distribution among officers.In short,this study has certain practical value in effectively alleviating the loss of youth police and improving the enthusiasm of youth police in grass-roots public security organs.
