Research On Test Method Of Vehicle Drivers' Hazard Perception Ability

The driver training and test focuses on driver's ability of vehicle maneuver in China,and the lack of ability of observation and judgment of road environment.This leads the cowardice of driver when driving on the road or to be overwhelmed in the face of dangerous traffic situations.Drivers' hazard perception ability is an important part of the road environment observation and judgment ability.It is necessary to increase the training to improve the driver's hazard perception ability and is of great significance in reduce traffic accidents.This paper firstly analyzed the problems existed in driver training test in China,especially the lack of driver's hazard perception ability.The concept of driver's hazard perception is defined,and its classification and impact factors are analyzed.Different research methods for driver's hazard perception ability are compared,and the method of scenario experiment is specified to study driver's hazard perception ability.Secondly,a set of test methods for driver's hazard perception ability is proposed.According to the principles of comprehensiveness,pertinence,and effectiveness,the construction method of the hazard scenario database is determined.And the quantitative evaluation index of hazard perception ability value is proposed.On this basis,11 hazard scenarios are made and the driver's hazard perception test software is developed based on the JAVA environment.Finally,the rationality of this method is verified by experiments.15 inexperienced drivers and 15 experienced drivers are recruited respectively in order to conduct two groups of controlled experiments.The first group of experiments is the compare of the outcomes for inexperienced and experienced drivers,and the second group of experiments is the compare of the outcomes for inexperienced drivers before and after training.The results show :(1)There is a significant difference in the hazard perception ability between experienced and inexperienced drivers(F=61.136,p=0.001<0.05).In the classified scenario,the difference of the potential hazard perception values of inexperienced drivers and inexperienced drivers is significant(F=46.925,p=0.001<0.05),while there was no significant difference in the value of overt hazard perception(F=1.358,p=0.254>0.05).The rationality of the driver's hazard perception test method is verified.(2)The hazard perception ability value of inexperienced drivers before and after training is significantly different(p=0.001<0.05),the score before the training is lower than the after.However,the value is not significant for the outcomes of inexperienced drivers before and after training in the classified scenarios,and the difference between potential hazard perception ability before and after training is significant(p=0.002<0.05).The training mainly improves the driver's potential hazard perception ability.
