The social governance pattern of co-construction,co-governance and sharing emphasizes the importance of residents' participation in community governance. However, the process of urbanization brings about rapid population movement. The heterogeneity of community residents who are gathered by strangers increases, and the degree of community adhesion decreases. The mobilization ability of the grassroots community to the residents has been weakened, and the participation of the residents' communities has not been very positive. The lack of social trust is considered to be one of the reasons that affect the enthusiasm of residents' communities. From the perspective of the research community, the influence of social trust on the participation of residents' communities provides a clearer indication of the relationship between social trust and the participation of residents' communities, mobilizes the enthusiasm of the community, and promotes the positive interaction of community governance.Based on this, the research focus of this paper is: First, does social trust have an impact on the community participation experience? Second,is the content of different community participation affected by social trust? Third,is there a difference in the impact of social trust on the participation of urban and rural residents?Based on the research results at home and abroad, this paper attempts to use the Cognitive Theory,Community Identity Theory and Social Mobilization Theory to use CGSS(2012)data and use the Probit model to analyze the impact of social trust on community participation.Taking social trust as an independent variable and community participation as a dependent variable, whether it has had community participation experience and specific participation content(including community building participation, community cultural and sports participation, community volunteer service participation),select gender, age, and subject Educational level, marital status, political appearance, income, use of the Internet and other factors as empirical variables for empirical research, and the introduction of the instrumental variable "average level of social trust in the survey area" as a tool variable,to some extent mitigate endogenous problems,in addition A sample analysis of urban and rural areas was conducted to explore the differences in the impact of social trust on community participation of urban and rural residents. The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Social trust can significantly promote the participation of residents' communities.(2)The degree of influence of social trust on the content of participation in different communities is different.Social trust has a significant positive impact on residents' cultural and sports participation and community volunteering, but social trust has no significant impact on the participation of residents' community construction.(3)There are differences in the influence of individual characteristics on the participation of residents' communities.Party members,well-educated and frequently used Internet users have a greater probability of community participation.(4)There are differences between urban and rural residents in urban and rural areas, and urban residents are more strongly influenced by social trust.Based on the above conclusions, the following countermeasures are proposed:(1)Accelerate the construction of a social credit system and create a good credit environment;(2)Enhance the credibility of the government and improve the system guarantee;(3)Divide the policy and mobilize the enthusiasm of the residents' communities...
