Research On The Relationship Between Community Trust,Sense Of Social Security And Community Participation Among Urban Community Residents

Community trust,as an important part of community social capital,formed by community residents' attitudes toward other community members' behavior or community rules and orders in line with their expectations.Community trust has two aspects,emotional and cognitive.Emotional community trust is irrational,which is generated by community residents through individual and intuitive feelings.As a contrast,cognitive community trust is based on rational judgment of community residents' behavior and characteristics.Community participation refers to the process of sharing information and communication among community residents,it is an important part of community construction.Many studies have shown that a close relationship exists between community social capital and community construction,so this study intended to explore the relationship by studying the impact of community trust on community participation.Based on the theory of trust and community participation in academia,this paper systematically explored the connotation and structure of community trust and community participation among urban community residents by using quantitative methods,developed measurement tools of community trust and community participation,and carried out internal structure analysis and reliability and validity verification.This paper further explored the relationship between community trust and community participation,and analyzed the influence of social security on the role of community trust in community participation.This paper is divided into five parts,with two studies involved,a total of 805 respondents included.The main conclusions are as follows:1.Community trust consists of five dimensions: intention,commonality,ability,honesty and goodwill.Community participation consists of three dimensions: public affairs participation,public welfare participation and private entertainment participation.Through an open questionnaire,the views of urban community residentson community trust,community participation and its influencing factors were collected,and the results were screened and categorized,the specific topics of community trust and community participation were initially established.2.Based on the concepts of five dimensions of community trust and three dimensions of community participation,the community trust scale and community participation scale were developed.Through an exploratory factor analysis,five factors were extracted from community trust and three factors were extracted from community participation.Each factor has a higher load value and the cumulative contribution rate is higher.After one step of confirmatory factor analysis,the structural model of five factors of community trust and three factors of community participation fitted well,which showed that the two scales had good structural validity,which was in line with the previous assumptions.The reliability and validity of the scale were tested,and the results showed that the scale had high reliability and validity.3.Significant differences were found in community trust among urban community residents with different gender,age,family monthly income per capita,and education level.Similarly,significant differences were found in community participation among community residents with different ages,family monthly income per capita,and education level,but community participation of different gender residents showed consistency.4.Community trust is positively correlated with community participation,and positively correlated with social security.Social security is positively correlated with community trust.Sense of social security plays a moderating role in the relationship between community trust and community participation,that is,a higher sense of social security can further promote the predictive effect of community trust on community participation.Sense of social security also plays a moderating role in the relationship between the emotional and cognitive aspects of community trust and community participation.
