Study On The Narrative Therapy Intervening In The Depression Of The Community Empty Nest Disabled Elderly

As a vulnerable group in the society,the community empty nest disabled elderly are prone to depression caused by lack of care and rehabilitation training,low self-efficacy and alienation of parent-child relationship,which deserves the attention of all walks of life.However,at present,there are few researches on the depression of the community empty nest disabled elderly,and the research on social work intervention in the depression of the community empty nest disabled elderly also needs to be strengthened.Based on this,this article takes an empty nest disabled elderly person L in Shenzhen D community as the research object,applies the narrative therapy in social work to intervene the depression of the client,and through case counseling,explores the effectiveness of narrative therapy intervene the depression of the community empty nest disabled elderly,and reflect on its shortcomings.Firstly,the disability and depression of the client was evaluated and measured by using the Physical Self-maintenance Scale(PSMS)of the Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL)and the Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS)created by Brink et al,then use semi-structured interviews and observations to collect basic information of the client,through the comparison and analysis of the collected data to evaluate the causes of the depression and the needs of the client,and develop service targets and intervention plans.In the specific intervention stage,this article mainly uses the narrative therapy,combined with the case counseling method,through the externalization,rewriting and witnessing,to achieve the separation between the client and the problem,deconstruct and reconstruct the life story of the client,and consolidate the client's new life story,there by alleviating the depression of the client,and makes it possible to face the future life with a positive attitude.Through the process and effectiveness evaluation of the entire case service,thisarticle draws the following conclusions: using the narrative therapy to intervene in the depression of the community empty nest disabled elderly can achieve favorable results,after the client accepted the case service,his depression has been alleviated,the client began to be satisfied with life,and full of confidence in the future,it can be seen that the case work can play a unique role in intervention in the depression of the community empty nest disabled elderly.However,there are some shortcomings in this article,the main performance is that the author lacks the experience of using narrative therapy service,the time of case service is limited,the later follow-up is insufficient and the research conclusion needs to be further verified,so the author therefore puts forward relevant suggestions for improvement,in order to provide reference and guidance for later researchers and practitioners.
