The construction of new rural communities came into being with the development of new urbanization. The purpose is to improve the living environment and conditions and improve the quality of life on the basis of the realization of the problem of food and clothing,to allow farmers to live like urban residents,to share the fruits of economic development, and to achieve integrated urban and rural development. In 2009,Shandong Province issued "the Opinions on Vigorously Promoting New-type Urbanization" and requested "to take the central village as the core and achieve full coverage of rural community construction in about 5 years".Nowadays, buildings are rising, and the subject of the new rural community, community residents,is still in an awkward position. The issue of citizenization has been in the ascendant since the beginning of the new urbanization construction. Most existing studies have focused on the obstacles of institutional and cultural factors. The biggest change brought by the new rural community construction to the residents is the change of living space, namely "upstairs".However, behind the changes of physical space are a series of practical activities of spatial remodeling and changes of new spatial representation, which profoundly affect residents' perception and identification of their own identity cognition and continuously construct their new identity. From the perspective of social space theory, this paper takes Z community as an example to analyze the impact of social space change on the transformation of rural community residents' identity during the construction of new rural community, and how the impact is established and played. In this study, the author found that the identity of the agricultural migrant population in the new rural communities is still in the transition stage from "farmers”to "citizens”,so it is more appropriate to call this group "community residents".The article is mainly divided into seven parts:introduction, theory and literature review, research design, body, identity and space, social space and identity transformation, the promotion and hindrance of social space to identity, and summary and outlook. This paper argues that changes in social space have an important impact on the identity transformation and identification of community residents. And this kind of influence is not only beneficial for their detachment from the peasant status, but also hinders their transition to citizenship. On the one hand, the loss of land as a production space naturally disengages farmers as a professional identity;multiple secondary job selection options and social interactions due to business relationships promote community residents to gradually disassociate from farmers' identity. The spatial practice carried out by residents to adapt the community imperceptibly improves the individual subject consciousness, establishes the spatial image and representation of the community, increases the identification of community residents. On the other hand, neighborhood connections of community residents are weakened, the heterogeneity of some residents' social network members has not improved, and the spatial representation boundary between community residents and foreign residents is still clear; The new rural community is located in a remote area, the suburban area has obvious disadvantages, and the urban-rural spatial separation still exists;the village committees and new communities represent two types of spatial collections, and the staggered management model hinders the process of citizenization.
