The process of modernization and urbanization is also the process of rural change, the main performance of the change is the transformation of traditional villages to urban community, during this period there has been a transformation community, which becomes the focus in the field of object academics and policy decisions. From the point of study approach, previous empirical studies mainly focused on two kinds of transformation community:village in cityand metropolis suburb, and research on the transformation community of county rural areas is insufficient. The pilot release of"Land Increase or Decrease Hook"policy makes county areas become the big cities construction land index "reservoir",where appeared a large number of transformation communities based on the circulation of land and population, around the county rural areas.Under this background, this paper takes the "Shiji" town in Suqian city of Jiangsu as a typical case and analyzes the changes of social economic and daily life. The research mainly adopts Burawoy's "Case Expansion Method"(CEM),gives the description and explanation on the dynamic mechanism and process of change of transformation community based on data collection, and thinks about the possibilities of existing theories, and try to analyze the possible trend of transformation community future. This research tries to expand in three aspects:(1)the spatial scope of the study, this paper is deeply influenced from traditional village studies, and also jumped out out of the scope of a single village research, but as a whole towns 89 square kilometers of space, involving dozens of villages. However, this paper is not intended to be,but the "Shiji" town as a complete change of the township just to provide a study field;(2)the time range, this paper fully absorpted from the previous experience, using a combination of data records, oral history and life history for case study on the historical process;(3)the research method, this paper not only has used the investigation method of anthropology field, but also the correlation research method of sociology and the city planning study. However this study is not intended to write a narrative ethnography, tries to construct a theoretical framework of the modernization of transformation community. This paper mainly discusses three key issues:(1)analyzes the spatial production and significance of the transformation community, from the perspective of "ocial space".The transformation community has certain "embeddedness",which determines the "tension" in the process of the spatial change;(2)analysis of the change of economic form in the process of transformation and development of community, including the end of commodity economy, the germination of commodity economy and the extension of market economy;(3)stressed the return of people,in the process of spatial, economic and social structure changes, how the residents adapt to and reconstruct their own daily life, how to adjust their strategies to survive, how to change their living standards, and how to reconstruct their social identity.Based on the above understanding, the conclusion of this paper is:the characteristics of regional differences and multi gradient of urbanization development, determine the different fate of the country,or become a transitional community,or toward the "hollow" even the dath.As one of the types of transformation community, the changes and problems in the development process that "Shiji" has faced develop is worth thinking. The smooth transformation of community into the public community, not only depends on the system of production, but also the modern reflexive force. The future of the transitiona community should be the end of the agricultural society and the coming of the "urban society".
