Group Work Intervention Study On Stress Relief Of Family Caregivers Of Disabled Elderly

Nowadays,China has a large size of the population and the economic growing rapidly.However,with the deepening of the aging of the population,the number of disabled old people is increasing rapidly.The care of disabled old people has troubled thousands of families and become a problem that needs to be solved by the society and the government.Influenced of traditional cultural concepts and the limited by the shortage of the resources,home-based care is still the main way to provide for the aged.As the main force in the home-based care mode,the internal forces of the family bear a huge burden of care.Taking care of the disabled elderly brings tremendous pressure on the physical,psychological and economic aspects of the caregivers.The long-term repetitive care that can not see significant changes can easily lead to anxiety,depression and other psychological problems of caregivers,and also affect the health of the disabled elderly.Therefore,It is very important to pay attention to the living conditions of disabled elderly family caregivers and to reduce their care pressure.This paper takes the family caregiver of disabled elderly in K community as the research object.With the help of community staff,the basic information and data of 60 disabled elderly family caregivers in the community were collected by semi-structured interview to understand the difficulties and needs of family caregivers.Then,eight family caregivers with high care pressure were selected as group members according to the scale measurement and their own wishes.This paper set up a pressure relief group,drew up a group plan,and carried out six group activities by using the methods of social work.Based on the social support theory and the empowerment theory,the targeted design of the activity scheme was carried out,and each activity was recorded and summarized.After the activity,the group process evaluation and result evaluation were carried out.Finally,the summary and reflection were made in order to enrich the research on social work supporting the family caregivers of the disabled elderly and provide reference for such activities.
