Group Work On The Social Adaptation Of Immigrant Children

Poverty alleviation Relocation is one of the effective ways to help the poor,which can quickly improve the living environment of the poor,but the adaptation of the displaced households in the new community has also become a major dilemma.Because their physical and mental development is not mature,children are more vulnerable to be affected,especially worthy of social workers' attention.On the basis of combing the existing literature on poverty alleviation and relocation,children's social adaptation and so on,combined with interview and observation methods,the author found that after children moved into the new community,their social adaptation was not optimistic,and they were faced with a series of adaptive dilemmas,such as study,life,interpersonal,environment,psychology and so on,which had an important impact on their growth and life.In this study,a single group of pre-test and post-test design methods were used to study the social adaptation of 10 children from the poverty-saving and relocation community from the established file card.The social adaptation was divided into three aspects:"behavior code adaptation,social adaptation and environmental adaptation".Based on the theory of empowerment,this paper intervened the social adaptation in the new environment from three levels of individual,interpersonal and social participation,improve the adaptability at the individual level,expand the social network at the interpersonal level,and awaken the consciousness of participation at the level of social participation.The(SASCA)scale was used to measure and analyze the social adaptation degree of the group members before and after the intervention of the group,and combined with the qualitative research method,the children,parents and community staff were interviewed.According to this,the research results were obtained and their limitations were analyzed to verify the effectiveness of the group intervention.It is found that the group work under the guidance of empowerment theory has achieved remarkable results in the social adaptation of children in the community of easy poverty alleviation and relocation,especially in learning and school adaptation.However,the social adaptation of children in the community of easy poverty alleviation and relocation is a multi-factor,multi-dimensional and multi-subject dilemma,so we should pay attention to the interactive adaptation between children and the environment and promote the interaction between children and the environment.Only by starting from three aspects:children's subject,external environment and interaction between subject and external environment,can it be more beneficial to promote their social adaptation.
