A Case Study On The Lack Of Social Support For The Empty Nest Elderly

At present,China has gradually stepped into an aging society,and the aging population is increasing.The development of society has also changed the original family structure.Many young people go out to work one after another,resulting in the increasing proportion of empty nest elderly.With the growth of age,the elderly have the situation of physical function degradation,physical decline and the increase of various chronic diseases.Because the children are not around,the service provided by the community attaches importance to the indicators rather than the actual needs of the elderly,the empty nest elderly lack of social support and fall into life difficulties.The service object of this paper is Tang and Qu of HJ community in Zhengzhou City,Henan Province.They use professional case work methods to help the service object establish effective social support,get rid of the difficulties encountered,and live an optimistic and positive life.Case intervention can help the service object to establish and improve its own social support,relieve the helplessness and loneliness of the service object,enhance the social integration of the service object,and help the service object to establish good interpersonal relationships,including good communication with family members and peer groups,in the process of service Restore the elderly to a good living condition.Through the methods of participating in observation and case interview,the problems and demands of the current service objects are evaluated,and the causes and solutions of the difficulties in the life of the service objects are analyzed.Based on the standard of the general process model of social work of accepting,estimating,planning,intervening,evaluating and closing cases,and taking into account the specific situation of the service objects,narrative therapy is adopted in the intervening process respectively And rational emotional therapy intervened in two empty nest elderly cases,and then understood the problems and needs of the service object,and linked related resources to establish effective social support for the service object.The whole process of intervention is based on the specific needs of the service object,targeted to help the service object to solve the problem of lack of social support,build good family support,peer group support,community and social support for the service object.By summing up the similarities and differences of two typical case services,this paper reflects the lack of social support of the urban empty nest elderly,discusses the differences between the two in terms of service objects,service problems and needs,service objectives and service methods,abstracts and sublimates the practical experience of case services,and through the research results,it is suggested to establish a multi-faceted cooperation for the empty nest elderly Effective social support.
