The Impact Of Female Migrants' Fertility On Employment In China

Based on data from the 2013-2017 National Migrants Dynamics Monitoring Survey,this paper describes the changes in employment characteristics,migration characteristics,and fertility status of female migrants over the past five years.The relationship between fertility,childcare,reproductive health,and female employment is explored through logistic regression analysis,and make a difference analysis of female migrants' personal characteristics,mobility characteristics and characteristics of inflow regions.The study found that in terms of childbirth,the employment rate of female migrants with 3 children and above is significantly reduced,and the difference in employment between 1 and 2 children was not significant.In terms of parenting and care,those who with young children are less likely to find a job,and the younger the child is,the less likely they are to be employed.Relatives and friends' care and trusteeship both have a clear regulating effect for female migrants' parenting.In terms of reproductive health,female migrants who are mainly living outside during pregnancy or who have flown out during childbirth,and who do not use modern contraceptive methods,will cause loss of reproductive health and reduce employment rates.Number of prenatal tests also has a negative impact,but it is uncertain.Low education is the main individual reason for the narrow employment channels and poor employment stability of female migrants,those younger ones are more vulnerable to the negative impact of parenting and care on employment,and those from rural area are more likely to be effected by reproductive health factors on employment.The smaller the scope of migration,the more female migrants are effected by birth,care,and reproductive health on employment,so do those flowing into underdeveloped areas.Finally,based on the results,it discusses the countermeasures to solve the current conflict between the two productions of female migrants.By improving the education level of urban and rural women,improving the service and management of floating population in small and medium-sized cities,strengthening the awareness of reproductive health,and ensuring the health status during the birth Ways,we can further alleviate the impact of female migrants' fertility on employment.
