This paper seeks to illustrate and dwell upon the importance of mutual understanding and advancement of relations between two greatest powers on the international arena of our days – the reemerging People's Republic of China and the United States of America, trying to preserve its position of the hegemon. It is no doubt that seeing eye to eye and combining forces to combat various aspects of global concern, like climate change, human trafficking, refugees' problem etc.would greatly contribute to the regional as well as international safety and stability. However, the development of relations over time, difference in ideologies and state order as well as the growing concerns on both sides stand on the way of successful union formation. The US is fearing that China's promise of keeping a low profile won't last long and will eventually aim at battling America's leading position in the established world order.Chairman Xi and his party,on the contrary, view the Western behavior as the attempt to suppress the arena for China's economic development. Thus, the main aim of this thesis is to carry out a number of conditions for each state, which are necessary to follow in order to reach a consensus, which is greatly significant for the well-being of both states as well as the whole world.
