With the development of society and the improvement of people's economic income,people pay more and more attention to the cultivation of the next generation and the education of children.However,in the process of education,due to the influence of ideas and the limitation of knowledge,parents often do not pay enough attention to children's emotional problems.During childhood,many children are psychologically sensitive and immature,which leads them cannot handled well when deal with negative emotions such as anger,sadness,etc.When negative emotions are not handled properly,some children have mild or severe emotion management problems.This problem has different degrees of negative impact on their interpersonal communication,study and life,so it is very important to improve children's emotion management ability.As one of the important components of children's groups,urban community children deserve attention from their society.Under the guidance of the values of " Help People to Help Themselves ",Social work can help urban community children improve their emotional management ability by combining relevant professional theories and practical skills.This study selects some children from H community in Chongqing as the research object.In the early stage of the study,the data of community children were collected through interviews and observations,and the emotional management ability of community children was analyzed and evaluated in combination with questionnairesurveys.The survey found that community children's control of their own emotions has a large problem,and there is an extreme expression in emotional expression.Based on this,the children in the H community have the following three needs:(1)the need to change emotional cognition;(2)the need to improve emotional expression;(3)the need to learn emotional regulation strategies.In response to the above needs of the service object,a targeted service plan was formulated to provide services in the form of group work.During the two-month group activity,a total of five group activities were carried out.Under the guidance of ABC theory and Social learning theory,using theoretical explanations,case studies,and other methods,combined with pictures,games etc.to improve team members' perception of emotions,and guide team members to learn skills and methods of emotional management,and then improve team members' emotional management ability.This study used the Experimentation Method to divide the service objects into experimental group and control group to carry out activities.Around the group activities,the ERQ(Emotion Regulation Questionnaire)was used to pre-test and post-test the group members,and the relevant data was analyzed using SPSS software.Data analysis results show that after the group intervention,the emotion management ability of the experimental group members has improved significantly.It is concluded from this that group work has a positive effect on the improvement of urban community children 's emotion management.Finally,this study reflected on the group activities and points out that in the follow-up related work,more attention should be paid to the individual needs of team members,integrating resources such as schools and parents to carry out long-term service activities to achieve better service results.
