Self-identity is a process of development that lasts for a lifetime.Individuals have the need to actively develop self-identity in different life stages.Even in the old age,there are still exploration and development tasks for self-identity.With the weak sense of family support for the aged,the number of empty nesters is increasing rapidly,and their physical and mental health problems are widely concerned.Among them,the empty nest elderly are in a psychological gap due to the lack of accompanying care of their children,the marginalization of social roles and other factors.They are in a long-term negative state of confusion and despair and are facing a dilemma of self-identity.Therefore,it is of great significance to actively guide the empty nest elderly to review and integrate their life,to re-establish their self-identity,to form new life expectations and to achieve the final integration and wisdom.Based on this,this paper mainly focuses on the self-identity of the empty nest elderly.By investigating the self-identity scale of 50 empty nest elderly with cognitive and action abilities in F community of Changsha City,this paper selects some empty nest elderly with low level of self-identityas the research object,and analyzes the community from three aspects of self-worth,self-motivation and self-belonging The current situation of self-identity of empty nest elderly in the area,from the three aspects of individuals,families and communities to explore the specific reasons for their formation of self-identity dilemma,in order to prepare for social work to intervene in the community of empty nest elderly self-identity dilemma.After practical intervention,the author found that: case work can help the case owner to actively explore and use the internal and external advantages of the resources according to the individual needs of the empty nest elderly,so that the case owner can gradually accept and appreciate himself;group work can be cut in from the way of life review,through the sharing and encouraging support among the group members,guide the group members to rediscover their own value,And form a good mutual aid network between each other to achieve the ultimate goal of improving self-identity.Finally,through the evaluation and reflection of social work's involvement in the plight of empty nest elderly's self-identity,this paper summarizes the effectiveness and shortcomings of social work's involvement in the plight of empty nest elderly's self-identity,and puts forward suggestions that are moreconducive to promoting the self-identity of empty nest elderly.
