Frontier plays a very important role to a country, which has always been inextricably linked to national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The governance of the borderland is a very important issue in the rule of successive dynasties. At the end of the Qing Dynasty,Western powers opened the door of our country using strong ships and cannons. The Qing government was forced to sign a series of treaties that humiliated the country and ceded large areas of our country.China gradually became a semi-feudal and semi-colonial society. The invasion of the great powers and the intensification of contradictions among the nationalities in the country made the Qing government face the double pressure of external and internal problems, and the frontier crisis intensified. The special geographical location of the Northeast Frontier has made it a competitive place for Western powers. As a part of the Northeast Frontier, the China-DPRK border area faces more acute and complicated internal and external conflicts. This thesis is based on the "A compilation of Frontier affairs in Fengtian" and the historical facts. It is divided into four parts apart from the introduction and the rest. The first part briefly describes the social and historical background of the late Qing Dynasty and the specific reform measures and governance policies of the Qing Dynasty's central government in the northeast border area from a macro perspective. The second part mainly explores how the Qing Dynasty's central government resolved the border disputes between China and the Korea based on international law:by signing an international treaty to determine the border between the two countries, thereby protecting the territorial sovereignty of the "Jiandao" region; The national qualifications of the people of reclamation and the ownership of their land ownership. The third part is based on the changes in international relations between China and the DPRK and the signing of international treaties. It explores the legal basis and principles of the Qing government's judicial trial of Korean cross-border crimes in thelate Qing Dynasty. The fourth part is mainly from the perspective of grassroots social security management in the border area between China and North Korea. From the establishment and abolition of the township treaty system to the establishment of police institutions, the development of the legal system and the implementation of policies and regulations in the border area between China and North Korea at the end of the Qing Dynasty were reviewed.
