In the early days of the founding of new China,Mao Zedong opened the exploration of China's industrialization and urban-rural development, formed the thought of urban-rural relationship with Chinese characteristics, answered the question of how to transform China from a backward agricultural country to an advanced industrial country, and became an important part of Mao Zedong thought. How to reveal and reflect the original content and vivid practice of Mao Zedong's urban-rural relationship thought, fully understand the contemporary value and significance of Mao Zedong's urban-rural relationship thought, and walk out a Chinese modernization development road different from that of western developed countries is an important topic. The formation of Mao Zedong's urban-rural relationship in the early days of New China had a profound theoretical origin and a certain historical background.Marx and Engels' urban-rural relationship thought is the theoretical basis for the formation of Mao Zedong's urban-rural relationship thought.Marx and Engels believe that urban-rural relations will undergo a process from separation, opposition, difference to final integration. The development of productive forces, the expansion of the social division of labor, and the development of the commodity economy have gradually separated urban and rural areas. The industrial revolution has promoted the continuous development of cities while simultaneously moving urban and rural areas.Opposition, only by eliminating capitalist private ownership can urban and rural integration be achieved.Due to the special relationship between China and the Soviet Union in the early period of New China, the urbanization roads and practices of Soviet heavy industry to promote urban development had a certain impact on the formation and development of Mao Zedong's urban-rural relationship. The three basic aspects of the urban-rural relationship: the basic goal, the realization path, and the basic problems constitute Mao Zedong's urban-rural relationship thought.Mao Zedong proposed that the way of urban leadership in the countryside and industrialization to promote urbanization will transform China from a backward agricultural country into an advanced industrial country, and finally realize urban-rural integration and socialist modernization. In the process of promoting industrialization and urban-rural development,Mao Zedong also emphasized the problems of coordinated development of industry and agriculture, rational industriallayout, and avoiding the disorderly flow of labor to the city.Mao Zedong's Thought on the relationship between urban and rural areas is the theoretical achievement and practical experience of the preliminary exploration of urban and rural development path by the Chinese Communists represented by Mao Zedong.Mao Zedong's Thought on the relationship between urban and rural areas is of great theoretical and practical significance. He put forward the strategic conception of the modern transformation of Chinese society, which makes China transform from the traditional society to the modern society, and lays the foundation for the development of industrialization and urbanization in China. At the same time,Mao Zedong's thought of urban-rural relations has laid an important theoretical and practical foundation for the correct handling of urban-rural relations, and provided Chinese experience for other developing countries to move towards modernization.
