Corruption and bribery crimes not only seriously violate party discipline and state laws,undermine the integrity system,destroy public and private property ownership,but also seriously damage the reputation and image of state workers,cause serious losses to the state,collective and personal property,and undermine social fairness,justice and harmony.The social harm is huge,an d it is necessary to increase prevention and punishment.China and Laos are close neighbors.Both countries are socialist countries.They share the same or similar aspects in terms of historical development,social forms,and challenges.Although the issue of corruption and corruption in the transition process between the two countries has its own characteristics,there are also many similarities in many aspects.The two countries have also had excellent mutual benefits in the pursuit of international coope ration.China has introduced many laws,regulations and policies endeavoring to strengthen the supervision and regulation on corruption and bribery,f or example,on March 20,2018,the "People's Republic of China Supervision Law" came into effect.The Supervisory Committee,known as China's highest supervisory organ,has made profound changes in anti-corruption powers and procedures.This paper compares the corruption crimes between China and Laos,especially through the comparison between the two countries on the punishment of corruption and bribery,the criminal law,and the shortcomings and deficiencies of the criminal legislation of Laos.Then,the author puts forward his own suggestions on perfecting the criminal law system of anti-corruption in Laos,in order to provide legal discussion and support for the actual anti-corruption work in Laos.
